Carnkie Camera Club is a lively 'fun' club and we extend a warm welcome to anyone interested in photography, regardless of skills, ability or equipment. We aim to provide a friendly and relaxed place where like minded people can meet and develop their interest in photography.

We meet each Wednesday in the Carnkie Institute, Carnkie village, near Redruth, under the shadow of Carn Brea at 7:00pm all year round. There is no obligation to attend every week!

Meetings are largely informal with everyone encouraged to participate. A small fee of £3.00 per meeting is made to cover running costs, refreshments and venue hire. We hope that Carnkie Camera Club is a little different to other clubs - the emphasis is fun, sharing and enjoying photography. Some meetings will include "hands-on" practical sessions, so bring your camera.

The Club has an A3 photo printer and all members are welcome to use this with a small charge being made for consumables.

2010 Themes: We try and have a monthly themed "competition" with topics chosen by members. Everyone is invited to bring along one or two prints related to the chosen theme. Normally there are two categories "Novice" for anyone who has not won before, and "Open" for those who have. The monthly themes are not overly competitive, they are intended more as a way of getting to see photographs from other people and sharing techniques and advice. Nothing too serious, though we normally provide a small prize for the "winners"

Photo of Month: This page provides a record of some of the themes from previous meetings.

Members Pics: All members are encouraged to submit some of their photographs to our members gallery. If you are not sure how to prepare and send your photos then see our video tutorials on preparing and emailing images. New members are invited to submit some of their work, established members are encouraged to add to their album whenever they can.
